My trip down to the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation was nothing short of remarkable. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to travel down there and learn more about the Apache people. This experience has been eye opening and has inspired me to continue my work with the Rez. I want to return as soon as possible and help out once again.
I met some new friends from the Rez this time down and there is no doubt that I will stay in close contact with them. I want to thank Father Gino, the nuns at St. Charles, and all of the Apache residents that I met. I also want to thank Judge and all the students there for their amazing efforts in donating the much needed school supplies. The children at St. Charles Elementary School are grateful for everything and it means a lot to them. Just giving them the chance to focus on their studies and not have to worry about not having the appropriate school supplies is an incredible act of kindness in itself. Thank you for everything.
This experience has been life changing for me and allowed me to realize the things that I take for granted in my everyday life. It also inspired me to make a change in this world. I think that the San Carlos Rez is my opportunity to change the world. I hope to return one day as a doctor and supply much needed medical care to the residents there. These people mean a lot to me now and their situation is appalling. Change can happen and I want to make it happen.
